What is the introductory diving course like?

The course of the day:

For the baptism of diving we meet at 8:30 am. After a brief theoretical lesson of 30min, we prepare the appropriate equipment for each one. Then, we go to the pool to practice the exercises thoroughly, taking all the time in the world to clarify any doubts.

After assembling the equipment together with the instructor, it is time to take your first breath underwater. Submerged, we learn a couple of basic exercises, such as recovering the lost regulator, knowing how to clean a mask flooded with water, and different exercises to practice buoyancy.

The exercises are repeated until everyone is comfortable with the equipment. After approximately two hours in the pool, we take a short break and get ready for the great adventure that awaits us. (In that same property, there is the possibility of savoring typical foods of the region.)

At 1:00 p.m. already in the port, we got ready on the boat for the diving baptism. Depending on the choice, there will be two or one dive in the local reefs de Carmen beachn. The maximum depth for diving baptism is 12 meters. The reefs are located very close to the port, so the boat trip will be short. Our instructors are multilingual and are at your disposal to clarify all your doubts.

What does the scuba diving baptism include?

1. A short theoretical lesson to convey the necessary basic knowledge.
2. Approximately 2 hours of training in the pool to learn the exercises.
3. Two dives on the reefs of Playa del Carmen at a maximum depth of 12 meters.
