What is the introductory diving course like?

For the scuba diving baptism we meet at 9:30 am. After a short 30-minute theoretical lesson, we prepare all the required equipment. With all the equipment on, we go to the pool to practice the breathing and floating exercises thoroughly, taking all the time in the world to clarify any doubts.

It's time to take our first breath underwater. Immersed in the pool, we learn a few basic exercises, such as how to retrieve a lost regulator, how to clean a mask flooded with water, and various exercises to practice buoyancy.

The exercises are repeated until everyone feels comfortable with the diving equipment. After about two hours in the pool, we take a short break and get ready for the great adventure that awaits us. We can even taste typical regional food!

At 13:00 h already in the port, we get ready on the boat for the scuba diving baptism. We do two dives in the local reefs of Playa del Carmen . With a maximum depth, for this first scuba diving baptism, of up to 12 m. The reefs are located very close to the port, so the boat trip will be short.

Our instructors are multilingual and are available to answer any questions you may have.

The Manatí Cenote is located on Federal Highway 307 next to the Tankha residential area, in Riviera Maya, in the state of Quintana Roo, between Puerto Aventuras and Tulum.

According to the Cancún Turístico site, this cenote received that name because it was home to a large number of manatees. In it you can find crystal clear waters with different sets of lights, due to natural lighting.

It has a depth of six meters and mangroves, coral reefs, rock formations and fissures in limestone can be seen in its surroundings. In the Cenote Manatí you can also find a cavern that flows into the sea.
